He was the original developer of the Gimp-Print software (now called Gutenprint) and contributes to many other free software projects such as FLTK, Newsd, and Samba. He owns and runs Easy Software Products, a company that sells Internet printing and publishing software.
In February of 2007, Apple Inc. hired Michael Sweet and purchased the CUPS source code. He continues to develop CUPS at Apple Inc.
